The Environmental Futurists
All this talk about campus organizing is well and good, but it's really not complete without reporting on The Environmental Futurists at Southern Connecticut State University; the most effective youth environmental organization in Connecticut and arguably one of the best in the country.
We have just started an on-campus bicycle program and are in the midst of several other major campaigns, including one to make SCSU sweatshop-free. For a small sample of our accomplishments (in less than a year and half) take a look at the following (incomplete) list of our media hits.
Seriously, if you're talking about campus organizing you should be talking about the Environmental Futurists! To contact us send an email to environmentalfuturists@gmail.com

It's worth repeating, stop drinking milk...
The scientific evidence is overwhelming, drinking milk from cows is definitely not healthy. It's common sense: cows' milk is for cows, not people. On Pennsylvania bans hormone- and antibiotic-free labels on dairy products posted 1 year, 12 months ago 21 Responses

Enough already
I am more than a little tired of reading this garbage in grist. I would have given up my subscription a long time ago if it were not for all the other folks that will inevitably agree me with me in subsequent posts. Eating dead animals in this country is bad for the environment, the evidence is absolutely overwhelming. People who disagree simply refuse to face the facts. The climate crisis aside, raising animals for food is incredibly wasteful and destructive. As far as being a carnivorous environmentalist, since humans cannot survive as carnivores, I will assume this guy means omnivorous environmentalists, which is, in fact, an oxymoron.
Like I said, I wish grist would stop publishing such non-sense; I'd expect as much from some right-wing soapbox such as Fox news. As far as, facilitating debate, just like the supposed debate on global warming, there is no debate, eating animals is bad for the environment. Shame on you grist for perpetuating such misinformation and confusion.
