..reduce the cost of..transporting coal
Coincidentally enough, 13 coal cars on a CSX train derailed in Bowie, Maryland last night, not far from DC. With the rains we are expecting in a couple of hours, this could turn into a real mess. I was surprised to hear the local news treating it as the potential environmental problem that it is, using words like toxic, pollutant, chemical compounds and heavy metals. Fact-checking is in order
His story about the Katrina boaters reminds me of Sarah Palin's story about selling the state plane on E-Bay. Did that really go down the way he said it did? Who was this mystery bureaucrat? He wouldn't be exaggerating for effect, now would he?On Louisiana governor talks energy in his response to Obama's address posted 8 months, 2 weeks ago 13 Responses

Um, what about the stove?
Popcorn has become like coffee - it's the simplest thing in the world to make, but we are becoming trained to believe that it's just too hard. You can always make popcorn on your stove, in any pot with a lid, just a little oil and whatever popcorn you like. No microwave, special containers, popper, etc. And of course, nothing has a butterier flavor than butter. On Why conventional popcorn sucks, and what you can do about it posted 9 months, 3 weeks ago 20 Responses

"...fragile environments..."
So, Senator Landrieu, where are the domestic places that you think we should explore and drill that do NOT have "fragile environments and great consequences to the Earth"? ANWR? the Louisiana wetlands? the Gulf Coast of Florida? the Red Rocks area in Colorado? On Landrieu serves up monologue on oil during DOE confirmation hearing posted 9 months, 4 weeks ago 3 Responses
