I've used baking soda and vinegar before to clean my kitchen counters, and they work just as well as brand name cleaners which are composed of harsh chemicals, artificial fragrances, etc. I've found green cleaning tips from different websites. I really like a green cleaning article by Sierra Club Green Home. They give a lot of little tips on what to avoid when cleaning.

As teens become more educated on climate change and the environment, they will grow up to become leading advocates for Earth conservation. Hopefully, this generation of teens and the generations after them will consistently carry out Eco-friendly practices. I think they will have it easier being green with our growing awareness of the environment, new technologies focused on energy conservation, and lower prices on solar panels, electric cars, etc. I'm excited for the future.

    I really like @SCGreen_Home

They update frequently about home health, energy and money-saving techniques, and links to interesting articles. I've done some of the things they have suggested to save money and energy, and I think my home and the environment are better for it.

I have noticed this trend of "LEEDwashing" as well, and, unfortunately, I don't think it's going to stop anytime soon. With the growing popularity of all things "green," businesses are doing anything they can to make a few extra dollars even at the expense of the consumers. Should we just let these fakes continue labeling themselves as LEED certified or should someone do something about it? These fakes are at least trying to be Eco-friendly which is better than nothing I suppose, but still, it leaves the consumers wondering "Who can I trust?"

Informative article! I'm really tired hearing about food recalls again and again- it's so frustrating! You would think that we, as a nation, would learn from our mistakes, but, I guess, we have a hard time doing something different (as evident by the recent recall of Nestle cookie dough, the recall of dairy products possibly tainted with salmonella, and now this massive beef recall). It's sad to know that the number one concern for companies is profit, not customers; however, without customer satisfaction, company longevity is diminished. Wouldn't it be nice if companies focused on the customers for a change and thoroughly inspected their products before being released in the market?
