HuffPo needs to come up with a better name than the "Investigative Fund." How about the "Huffington Police"?

There are still problems of resource inefficiency and overconsumption with meat, so it's still smart to moderate your consumption. Just eat organic if possible.
In any event, extending the carbon cap to cover agriculture would largely take care of this matter, assuming we can construct the proper metrics to estimate emissions of a given facility.

They're fine with energy labels so long as they get to choose how to use them. That's why you see lots of "low-fat" advertising on products in the grocery store but never any "high-fat" advertising (unless the item is lard or something, I guess). Not surprisingly, truth in advertising is only acceptable to sellers when the truth benefits rather than hurts the sale.
