  Thanks for your comment -- we are working on the "donate" button -- like most other things about the new site, it was rebuilt from the ground up.  It's now in testing.

  While staying out of the debate about the design etc etc, I can tell you that author-based feeds are on the way -- possibly as soon as early next week.  In fact, little feed icons should be popping up around the site with increasing frequency.
