Mr. Wells, you might want to double-check your numbers on sea-level rise. While the seas have risen at a mean rate of about 1.8 mm per year over the past century, the rise has intensified considerably in recent years, to around 3 mm per year. Thermal expansion -- that is, water getting warmer and thus more voluminous -- is considered the key driver of that increased rate of rise. Certainly there are other factors behind Louisiana's coastal land loss, as I report in my piece.
