shirts
For the record, I think the shirts from ONE were among the least likely of the 5 lbs of paper and plastic in the reg bags to be thrown out by attendees. And having worked in the expo room I can tell you that there was traffic to ONE's booth all conference long of people exchanging shirts. And people were wearing them.
Personally, I threw out everything except my ONE shirt, Mother Jones magazine, and ACLU constitution. And there was a lot more in that bag and a ton of stuff placed at every seat at the keynotes.
Regardless, yes, point taken - the conference as a whole could have been a heck of a lot more green. Even a couple of recycling bins in the big keynote room would have gone a long way.
That all said, I do think people meeting in person to organize once a year is important. Let's all help the Netroots minimal staff and volunteers be more green in '09 rather than complain about it after it's over again. On Netroots Nation pledges to cut footprint ... in 2009 posted 1 year, 4 months ago 6 Responses
