What's the skinny?

What would you ask a ‘Skinny Bitch’? 4

As our resident foodie Tom Philpott noted a few weeks ago, the bitches behind Skinny Bitch -- "a no-nonsense, tough-love guide for savvy girls who want to stop eating crap and start looking fabulous" -- are back. Tomorrow afternoon I'll be lunching with one of them, and I'm curious what y'all would ask her -- besides, of course, "Are you gonna eat that?"

Rory Freedman and Kim Barnouin, the self-described "pigs" behind Skinny Bitch, shook up the diet world with their foul-mouthed vegan manifesto about the horrors of the food industry. Once the book was spotted in the hands of the über-skinny Victoria "Posh Spice" Beckham, it raced to the top of the New York Times best-seller list and has since become one of the best-selling vegan books ever published -- arguably helping to catapult veganism from hippie to hip.

The new release Skinny Bitch In the Kitch is less an animal-rights shoutfest and more a how-to, with vegan recipes ranging from "bitchin' breakfasts" to "PMS (pissy mood snacks)."

So tomorrow it's lunch with Freedman while she's in town promoting the book. I'm anxious to ask her about the sometimes-not-so-rosy response to their ultra-thin ideal and how she feels about crediting a Spice Girl for their success. But what else should I ask?

Leave your suggestions in comments.

I would expect a book like thisto change a lot of eating habits. Changing what is cool is how we are going to get things done.
Ben Franklin decided to become a vegetarian as a teenager after reading a book by an early animal rights proponent, Thomas Tryon (1660). He went back to more conventional diet at some point, figuring that if cod could eat other fish, then he could eat cod.

In the end, it all comes down to biodiversity. Poison Darts--Protecting the biodiversity of our world

Please ask: all or any of the following. How do they deal with criticism from the meat industry stating that a vegan diet is unhealthy?
Outside of diet, what other main ways can a person support a vegan life style in their everyday living?
How do you deal with people that say things like "oh God put animals on earth for us to eat/use"?
P.s. I am veggie and gradually turning into vegan.

Punk vs. hipThe author(esses) of both Vegan with a Vengeance and How It All Vegan! both came out of the punk scene: the foreword to Vegan with a Vengeance even mentions the punk 'do-it-yourself' ethic that vegans need to adopt to continue eating in a non-vegan world. The Skinny Bitch writers do not seem to be the punk type...do they think they're an anomaly or is this the beginning of bringing veganism into the mainstream culture?
