Whacked by The West Wing 3

OK, am I the only enviro ticked off that last night's West Wing episode, even while highlighting the need for tighter fuel-economy standards, portrayed renewable-energy advocates as querulous, petty, bickering twits pushing immature and drastically flawed technologies?

Oh, and am I the only enviro who kinda likes the word enviro?

It's no fun being an enviro alienI don't know if you are the only one, but you must be in the minority, because enviro is such a squishy, almost trivializing sort of word. As we consider various ways to reach out beyond the choir and to usher new people into the movement, do we really want to be leading with the term enviro?  "Really, it's fun -- yes, you can be one of us, too.  An enviro."  Kinda makes those who care about the environment seem as if they are aliens.
But it's late.  Maybe when I wake up, I'll be singing a different song.

GreenMe, I'm fond of the word "green" as a noun.  But maybe it has too many political connotations, what with the party and all?

You got something better?Perhaps Umbra should run a new contest to find a better word for enviro(nmentalist), like unto last year's contest that produced the much-beloved (ahem) word pollutocrat.
