You may find this hard to believe, but there are people we love even more than we love ourselves -- our readers! Especially those of you who help us fight the good fight by sending a li'l dough our way now and then.
And how do we show our love in return, aside from imparting daily wit and wisdom? By giving away nifty prizes to donors whose names are randomly drawn out of our recycled hemp hat!
Below, we show off a couple of unsolicited photos that came after our last fund drive. Look how attractive and intelligent and funny (and did we mention attractive?) our readers are! (And see, we really do give away those prizes!)

Chris Robbins says she didn't even know there were prizes! She was just giving to Grist out of the goodness of her heart. Here she pretends to chow down on the potato-starch packaging peanuts shipped with the global warming mug and Numi tea.

Attractive? Hmmm ... well, there can be little doubt that that handsome pair of knees on young Desmond would stir the heart of many a priest ... But really, they are all a cheery, happy, lovely bunch, and they could not have donated to a finer cause. Congratulations and best wishes to all the prize winners!
In another part of the world, far from sunny San Leandro, notice how warmly Chris Robbins and boy-pal are dressed, as they sit down to their luncheon of whatever. Clearly they are the kind of people whom Grist loves, who all winter long keep their thermostat turned down to 40.
Chickens are our cousins!
So are other sensitive animals!
Enough is enough!

The long odds on Grist...
We also won some loot from Grist. Now I'm stylin' with new shoes and a Levi jacket. Does that mean we have places to go?
We did visit Grist offices in the Dexter-Horton building to make another contribution and it was as Outside Magazine described, lean and green and clean. We felt guilty we did not bring more clothes and food.
For all you fence sitters out there, CONTRIBUTE.
