Is the Pope Catholic Solar?

Vatican goes solar 3

The 2,400 solar panels covering the roof of a giant concert hall in the Vatican were activated on Wednesday. And seeing that now the pope is open to solar systems, Galileo shook his fist in his grave.

Solar Panel RoofsVery happy to hear that the Vatican, with all its leadership stature in the world, has invested in a solar-panel roof. Hopefully many will follow this example, especially businesses that use lots of energy. The largest solar-panel roof in the Northwest recently had its grand opening: http://www.diamondcutlife.org/living-out-the-triple-botto ...

Vatican Solar PanelsThis is a great move. The Pope is GREEN. He has taken quite a few green initiatives lately:

Well isn't that special ...Now if the Pope would only encourage (indeed, simply allow) his followers to practice artificial birth control, we wouldn't be zooming so rapidly on our way to a global population of 9 billion people by the year 2050 (that's the equivalent of two more Chinas than we have today, folks.  Think about it.)
Please.  Don't tell me "the Pope is green".  He is, in my mind, truly a criminal for encouraging an already over-populated planet to further over-populate.
Not only will humans ultimately suffer from the inevitable wars over resources and starvation (I hope they tear down the Vatican gates in search of food and clean water), but every other species on the planet needs to step aside to make room for them/us in the meantime.
And many of those species, in case you haven't noticed, simply aren't making it.
So the Pope is buying himself some solar panels.  Whoop-de-doo.  Keep your eye on the ball for Christ's sake, Grist.
