Treehugger on Oprah

Educating housewives 3

Treehugger TV's Simran Sethi was on Oprah for a short segment yesterday in a show devoted to global warming. Al Gore was on as well, and in passing Oprah referred to him as "our Noah" on global warming.

That really irritated Rush Limbaugh, and anything that chafes that dyspeptic old druggie pervert gasbag sounds like an unqualified success to me. Kudos.

The video of Sethi is below the fold.

The Gasbag HeavesWhat's more, in the clip Limbaugh played, Gore got across the essential point, which is that coal and gas interests funded "pseudostudies" (great word!) to create doubt about the threat of global warming, exactly as the tobacco industry funded pseudostudies to create doubt about the threat of smoking tobacco.
    Thanks for the pub, Rush!

limbaugh vs. sethiLife is too short to waste much time vilifying the unspeakably horrible Rush Limbaugh.  Frankly, I doubt his sincerity; that is, he is a money-making professional, and so I strongly suspect that his public persona is an act, carefully constructed to keep all those dittoheads tuning in.  Televangelists are similar in that regard.
What, do you suppose, is the point of writing Al Gore's name, in the Limbaugh transcript, always as "Algore"?  Is that based on some odd little mean joke that Limbaugh made a long time ago?  Is it supposed to have a vaguely Arabic sound, hence the man himself must be all the more evil and un-American?
On the other hand, Simran Sethi is a real star, hopefully a rising one.  I love that she boldly embraces the titles "environmentalist" and "treehugger."  I am inspired to put out some information on the recycling of Christmas trees by the mailboxes of my building, with an invitation that we should get together to discuss the greening of the building, especially working toward making it more energy-efficient, and doing something constructive with the roof.

I agree Canis,Rush is using the dittoheads to make himself and those who advertise on his media wagon wealthy. The dittoheads are a bunch of idiots and Rush seems to know this all too well. Listen to the ads on his radio show. They are mostly scams and predatory, like with a televangelist.
