Transition talk: The Lisa they can do

Politico claims N.J. DEP commissioner Lisa Jackson in line to head EPA 8

Muckraker: Grist on Politics

For what it's worth, Politico is reporting that Lisa Jackson is probably going to be Obama's pick to head the Environmental Protection Agency. "It seems like it's pretty close to a done deal. She'll be a very strong candidate," says an anonymous Democratic Senate aide.

Jackson is currently serving on Obama's transition team for the EPA. She is the commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, where she is overseeing the implementation of the state's landmark climate plan, and Gov. Jon Corzine (D) recently tapped her to be his next chief of staff. During the Clinton years, she managed the EPA's regional office in New York for the Superfund program.

Huh?You've got to be kidding me -- She was a Superfund program manager, and later ran a pretty good state program.
    How is that hackery?
Perhaps you would rather see someone with no political connections, or possibly one who never had to manage anything?  Think that would make EPA more effective?

Science?I, along with many others, am still waiting for the announcement of a Science advisor.
GreenMom: I'd rather see someone with no political ties, for sure. (Not that I know much about this Lisa Jackson).

Say no ObamaI worked at the New Jersey DEP and am well acquainted with Ms. Jackson. This could be really bad news for Obama because Jackson (and others) ruined the NJDEP.
Lisa JACKSON should not permitted to become the next EPA administrator. She is no leader and is not what Obama needs in his government and not what the nation/ world needs to address its worsening environmental problems.Jackson caused a lot of scientists and highly experienced staff to leave the department. (Now morale in the NJDEP is now worse than prisons).
People should also note that Lisa Jackson (co-chair of Obama's EPA transition team) has apparently seen fit to pull a Cheney and nominate herself to be the new EPA administrator .
Want real change...want real environmental protection???? Say NO to Jackson!

Superfund manager?????"She was a Superfund program manager, and later ran a pretty good state program."
    Where and when????
I worked the NJDEP for 20 years and don't recall Jackson  working as a superfund program manager or Division director.
