Soon-to-be-felon Tom DeLay writes the dumbest thing I've ever read on climate change.
Sir Oolius takes one for the team and smacks it about.
It's hard to believe someone as dumb as a box of rocks was running the House for so many years. Or I guess maybe it ought to be hard to believe.

The Pew Center found:
"Among Republicans, higher education is linked to greater skepticism about global warming -- fully 43% of Republicans with a college degree say that there is no evidence of global warming, compared with 24% of Republicans with less education."

I know some conservative Republicans who are educated and employed in biology and natural resources and who do not believe in global warming. In their eyes global warming is a "liberal's" issue. Their reactionary nature rejects a message like "An Inconvenient Truth" from Al Gore simply because it came from Al. I also add that several of these people religiously listen to and ape Rush Limbaugh.

On a more serious note, Sallie Baliunas' sidekick, Willie Soon is back at it, again. This time, he says that not only is global warming not real, but that biologists claiming that polar bears are being endangered by melting and breaking polar ice don't know what they are talking about either. Of course, he, being an astronomer, would know better than climatologists or biologists about such things. . . .

DeLay is someone I believe Natalie Maines of the Dixie Chicks could have just as easily been referring to when she said she was ashamed that Bush is from the same state of Texas as she calls (and I call) home. Interchangeable Skippy McDumbAsses.
And even evolution creates anomalies and mistakes. The difference is that evolution's mistakes don't have the support of the Corporate Oligarchy.
And it truly would NOT be so bad if it was merely stupid, but as the entire BushCo. parade has shown, it is highly dangerous in so many areas and on so many levels. From the war, to the ecomony, to health care, to the environment, to practically every area of public policy and governance, it is a lesson in experiences never to be repeated.
And it should go without saying that a diploma (suggesting an education) is not a guarantee of intelligence or critical thinking--again, look at Skippy McDumbAss Bush.
What more need be said?

BIRDS OF A FEATHER DISAPPEARING TOGETHER
A new study by the National Audubon Society shows a dramatic decline in the populations of some 20 familiar bird species nationally. Most of those species are found in Minnesota.
