UPS to deliver by b-i-k-e? 3

The president of the Salem (Ore.) Bicycle Club got an e-mail from someone purportedly at UPS looking to hire seasonal drivers to make deliveries by bike -- and thus to reduce greenhouse-gas emissions.

Wowie! If this is for real, it means that all those with admiring eyes for the buff men and women in brown have even more to look forward to -- buffer men and women, with a healthy glow from biking around to deliver goods.

Hope this is real. Anyone heard of UPS doing this anywhere else?

    You got to be careful with those emails and vansA Fed Ex van ran me off the road recently. I gave chase and reported his license number to the dispatcher. Have not seen him in the neighborhood since. The guy must have been doing 40 on roads barely wide enough for one car to get between parked cars and it took me a while to catch him. He left car alarms going off in his wake! The dispatcher could hear them in the background of my cell phone.

    In the end, it all comes down to biodiversity. Poison Darts--Protecting the biodiversity of our world
