A report put together by the National Coal Council finds that coal is essential and it's not going anywhere and reducing coal use would mean the widespread death of puppies and cute children but the full-scale use of all available coal will lead to a country infused by pony spirits!

Perhaps human beings could more effectively address the emergent and convergent global challenges we see looming ominously before the family of humanity on the far horizon if so many of our leaders, like those supporting "big coal", did not abuse human intelligence and ingenuity by choosing to adamantly idolatrize the endless growth both of the coal industry and the global economy.

All pictures in Grist of these types should be virtually pony hawked to reflect these new "pony spirits".
BTW, this makes brave eco-warrior,wind power advocate, coal opponent (Kansas governor)Kathy Sebellius, the very best candidate for VP. She is on the short list according to political rumor.
Fight the power! Fight the enemy of every species on planet earth. Dark, dangerous, dirty, corrupt COAL!
Turn it all into hundreds of years of natural gas reserves, underground. That's our clean energy safety net, in case volcanic eruption or meteor strike put up enough soot to have a few years of :nuclear" winter. Years without summwer, like that one in the 1800s was it?
Strategic energy reserve? Coal converted to natural gas, by natural processes, natural bacteria farms underground. It's a safe biotechnology ready to go now. Close those coal mines for good!
Employ coal miners in this huge new gas industry. Coal unions, take heed, move to this new energy field right now. Start retraining your members.
