Raj Patel, author of the searing book Stuffed and Starved: The Hidden Battle for the World Food System, is one of the most trenchant critics of industrial food.
According to Patel, one billion people in the world don't have enough to eat, while another billion suffer from the consequences of too many low-quality calories. The phenomena are the result of a food system rigged to work for a few multinational corporations.
In the video interview below, Patel talks about the deceptive nature of the food system as experienced by most people living in developed countries:
What can China teach us about electric bikes?
Has Big Organic passed its sell-by date?
One year later, a Happy Meal doesn't decompose

stuffed and starvedTruly the only choice we have as consumers is to say no to the supermarket.
PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR DECISIONS.
Make more of your own meals. Shop the Farmer's Mkts, join a CSA, grow some of your own food, seek out your locally owned/operated businesses.
Keep the dollars in your area....Stop falling for the idea we need more caffiene.
BTW - I do find it amusing that Raj exudes more energy than a case of Red Bull...
Nobody gets more until everyone has enough.
