Dearest Readers,
I am back. My captors released me early this morning, and I have never been happier to walk somewhere in my life. All that driving gets one down, doesn't it?
Big thanks to the more than 2,000 of you who donated to Grist to help secure my release. I am in your debt, even more so than usual. Thank you, thank you. Thank you. I'll remember you all when I earn millions from my tell-all book. (And if you haven't gotten around to donating yet, it's not too late -- Grist can still use your help!)
Now, on to the important work: answering the questions you wrote during my captivity. Here you go:
Give Grease a Chance: On cooking oil, again
Buzz Kill: On Jell-O shots
Chem Again: On bleach
Freely,
Umbra

Special xmas gift I am asking from you (for saving your life) is for you to look into the horrible thing about to happen at the Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle. They are planning on artificially inseminating the Elephant Chai (the Mom who lost her baby Hansa in June this year to the herpes virus.) This "rape" to make her pregnant again is way too dangerous because there is contamination at the zoo and also where the seamen comes from in Canada. A new baby would die again.
I just implore you to look into this matter carefully. I am a member of "Friends of Woodland Park Zoo Elephants" (JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)
