In other music news, green is the new rock. Seriously. When D.C. classic rock radio station WARW 94.7 wasn't doing well in the ratings, the owners decided to green their format. Their new tagline? "Go green with The Globe."
Now the station plans to use renewable energy to power its transmitter and replace company cars with hybrids. In-studio artists will perform in The Globe's Custom Greenhouse, which has been fitted with low-voltage lighting and recycled flooring. Rock is great.
Green is for patchouli wearing VW drivers who want to bounce beer cans off their rubber floors, make fun of PC users and generally use their product consciousness to get laid.
Hopefully -- but not likely -- this trend will end.
