President Bush asks OPEC to boost oil production 5

President Bush, on a trip to Saudi Arabia, has urged the key member of OPEC to boost oil production. "Oil prices are very high, which is tough on our economy," said Bush. "I would hope, as OPEC considers different production levels, that they understand that if ... one of their biggest consumers' economy suffers, it will mean less purchases, less gas and oil sold." Translation: We don't want to pay more, we don't want to seek alternatives -- we just need our fix, man! Saudi Oil Minister Ali al-Nuaimi demurred, "We will raise production when the market justifies it."

Economic addictions are the new black, like oilWhat happened to "America is addicted to oil"?
Basic economics: when supply is down, demand goes up. And Bush whines to OPEC.
I guess no one's ever thought of reducing demand, huh?

War is Over; Fire Up Your Engines!

    Whew...I'm glad that's over.
Time for some cheap gas, V-8 engines and wild living.
Now, we don't have to listen to a bunch of Puritan Greens like Al Gore telling us to recycle our anti-freeze and tranny fluids.
I get my kicks on route 66.

Elections......My guess is that he's also worried 'bout the upcoming elections.  Republicans haven't addressed energy adequately (well, neither have Dems, but at least they're tryin'), and he knows that if gas prices start to approach $4 by the time the elections come along, it could lead to frustrations to oil-friendly members of Congress-most of which are Republicans.

We Need More Oil ...so we can destroy the planet as fast as possible!  Our idiotic non-reality-based belief systems provide that our reward will come after out deaths and that this planet doesn't really matter anyway!  Drill, refine, and burn away!

Bush sells weapons to main sponsor of terrorismThis is just another sad example that the moron in chief has learned NOTHING from his faults. He keeps on making bad decisions like a bull running against the wall over and over again. Because the Saudis profit from the high gas prices in the US they are building luxury and quality hotels for their fanatic friends all over the world and finance worldwide terrorism at the expense of our bucks.

And Bush doesn't quit calling the Saudis his friends and our allies. I would laugh about this theater of the absurd if it wasn't that serious.

The next president will inherit a very heavy burden, whoever that president will be.
