Obama pledges to cap carbon 1

In this video (the second of two) of his victory speech this evening in Houston, at about 7 min. in, Obama discusses energy policy -- says we're shipping money overseas and melting the polar icecaps. He pledges to cap carbon, invest in renewable energy, and raise fuel efficiency in cars (it's "the only way we can bring down gas prices in the long term"):

The ice caps are greeted with silence. Renewable energy gets huge cheers.

Need to Relate Cap and Trade to Local EconomyI think to most Americans cap and trade is still a pretty esoteric concept. He should have related it to the local economy. Something like, "We're going to implement a cap and trade system the reduces greenhouse gases, puts money back in people's pockets, and helps fund new industries like the wind power they have right here in Texas!"
Yaaaaaaaaaaaaay!! Yes, We Can! Yes, We Can!, Yes We Can!
Give them the old specific, vague, specific line.
