Inhofe digs deeper 6

"I think I was right on that ... It's not whether or not we're going into a global warming period. We were. We're not now. You know, God's still up there. We're now going through a cooling spell."

-- Sen. James Inhofe, in an Oct. 7 debate with Democratic challenger Andrew Rice, defending his notorious assertion that climate change is "the greatest hoax ever perpetrated on the American people"

That's awesome. One minor correction:  The Dem challenger is named Andrew Rice, not Jim.
Still, excellent clip. I love the part where Inhofe says, "I actually believed that manmade gases caused global warming... Until we found out what it would cost us if we conformed with Kyoto."
He goes on to explain what he means by that, but taken out of context, it's a beautiful illustration of exactly what his priorities are.

And of courseThe usual argument is "Wow look at the trend line between 1998 and 2008!"

Kind of ignoring that those two years had a rather strong positive and negative el nino cycle.

Broad side of barnBut still funny. Kind of like the Flat Earth Society (yes, they're real, but they apparently don't believe in the Internet, either, because all the FES pages on the web are, naturally, parodies. I saw a mailer once from the FES, typed on a typewriter and badly misspelled).

The flat earth society...What is amusing are greens who think that man is causing the changes in climate trends when the changes are not unusual.  In this debate the senator is one of the sanest voices and has been asking for reason and evidence instead of faith.  From what I see the latest solar and temperature data have proven him right and the greens wrong.
