Also, we need new resources ... 4

“The time for implacable opposition, for going it alone, has passed. We need new approaches and greater adaptability if we are to achieve acceptance of fossil fuels as sustainable resources.”

Sustainable Fossil Fuel?Go to the Ohio Valley Environmental Coalition web page, look at the pictures and then come back on here and tell me about sustainable fossil fuels as a resource.
Coal is not a sustainable fossil fuel

The eons of time and nature was good to us down here. It was not until we become civilized that destroying our habitat become fathomable or fashionable.

Yo...Hey, Jimmy-baby, you better stop hitting the crack pipe. It's beginning to affect your judgement. Fossil fuels as sustainable resources. Ha! That's rich. Next thing he'll tell me is nuclear power is green, cheap and safe.

    The mellotron is your friend.

Look closely at what he said..."if we are to achieve ACCEPTANCE of fossil fuels as sustainable resources." (emphasis mine)
I suspect that Mr. Mulva knows darned well that fossil fuels are not sustainable.  He's also probably smart enough to recognize "sustainability" as the buzzword du jour.  Is it too cynical of me to think that the "new approaches" of which he speaks have their basis in public relations and marketing, not science and technology?

Bear Market? Depression? The complete divorce of physical reality and corporate boardrooms may have something to do with it. The idea that the corporate world can completely divorce their policies from the physical realities of the world and still serve shareholders is the seed, root and branch of the coming depression.
Giving money to Wall Street at this point makes about as much sense as this guys statement.
