   WellAtleast Israel is serious about it.
   
   They want to get all of their cars off oil, and onto electricity by 2020.

   Then again, they really might get cut off from Arab oil supplies at any moment.
   Where as for the US, it's more of a rhetorical talking point.

   VP spot for Al Gore?Well, I do not know how much credit should go to Dick Cheney (and What's-his-name, Laura's husband), but James Carville is certainly right to think that henceforth, the nature of the vice-presidency can be redefined, all the time.
   The "pot of piss" paradigm is past.
   And it certainly helps that Barack Obama has been promising (well, he used to promise) to do things in a radically new way.
   Which is to say: Go for it, Al!  Define the vice-presidential slot as an Environmental/Energy Czardom, and that should work just fine!
   (Except you never know with those super-cool superior Obama people -- God, are we in for another totalitarianism?)
   One last thing for now, Al: Don't forget the animals.  Chickens first, then the fish, then the pigs, then the rest.
   
   Chickens deserve our true friendship! So do fish! So do other sentient beings! Let us learn to be kind.

   If I were Obama,would I take advice from Carville????
   I don't want all our e-celebrities and leaders to go flocking to a future Obama administration. We need them on the outside organizing and causing trouble, not neutered and muzzled on the inside.

   Why would GoreAccept a job he's already had under a charismatic president (where he was shoved into a closet and rendered useless as the Clintons promoted horrible environmental policies until the last week of the second term, when Bill issued some executive orders for as land mines for Bush) when he could have had the top spot for the asking?

   Yes, Gore would make a great VP...His first act should be to allow a dozen or so families to move into his mansion with him (yes, comrade, this arrangement is more eco-friendly and just - Dr. Zhivago).  He should also sell all of his stock in any gas or oil companies to show true leadership by example.  Oh...and need I mention the 800-lb. gorilla in the room?  Maybe he should advocate a vegan diet....

   gore-bloreWTF is with all the fetishes about Gore?  I mean, he released a pretty good book and movie that got people finally thinking and talking about the whole climate thing.  Other than that he's just an old hypocritical fuddy-duddy.

   not really Johnits really not an 800lb gorilla unless you're a vegan. We all get the reduce meat thing but embracing a vegan diet would make a candidate in the US as electable as if he were a publicly announced atheist which is to say not at all.

   OK, Randino,I see your point: In view of the totalitarian Obamachine on its way, crushing everything in its past juggernautishly, it would be nice to keep a few people un-Obama-ized, such as Al Gore.
