"A major component of Global Warming is to reduce population because people are seen as part of the problem. And, of course, population control includes abortion. It also includes same-sex relations because they do not cause offspring."

If the idjit quoted above had bothered to read a bit he would know that the front line on population control is education of women. This would be followed by the freedom of women to make their own decisions regarding pregnancy. (that includes keeping girl children)
Then easy access to birth control.
Then access to health care in general.
Then a social safety net that guarantees minimal standards of food, shelter and medical care for all. (men too, who knew)
Then reduced wealth inequity because that reduces the choices and the dignity of the majority.
Then abortion rights because that's part and parcel of an effective health care system.
All that includes respecting same-sex relationships because that has to do with recognizing the dignity of all people.
Since the ass quoted makes his living preying on feelings of guilt, humiliation and inadequacy he just can't have any of those liberal "human rights" interfering. If people didn't have to beg the invisible angry sky god for the rent money and better health they just might not feel the need to fund his loud self.

No one is doing birth control that matters, China to some extent but with their initial numbers before they started the math ain't working out.
India, there is a good place for birth control to take hold.
Sub-Sahara tries to self correct all the time, the world food bank or the lack thereof will help out there soon.
With food to soon be as scarce as oil and more relevant and water at a premium. I feel that along with this oil thing we will have a big self correction before long.
Not being pessimistic, just practical, its time for a big global correction with this so called dominant species. If history teaches us anything we are overdue.
The eons of time and nature was good to us down here. It was not until we become civilized that destroying our habitat become fathomable or fashionable.

It's comforting to know that people who don't reproduce are inherently self limiting.

Maybe heterosexual "relations" between consenting adults practising birth control simply aren't icky enough for the Church. We're not married yet - does that count?

Well how about these reasons?
My nieces
My friends' children: Kami, Alina, Kenzie, Zane, Connor, Ryan, Dylan, Emelia, Mason, Branco, Dulcinea, Christiaan, Zach, and three that are still in the womb
My nieces' children
My friends' childrens' children
The children of people I don't even know, and their childrens' children
The trees in my backyard
The squirrels, chipmunks, sparrows & titmice, deer and racoons in my backyard.
The trees and the critters in other backyards.. and forests... and swamps... and oceans.
International soccer
The hope that someone, somewhere on this planet, 1000 years from now, will eat an ice cream cone on a hot day....will make snow angels....will chase a ball...will catch a wave... will enjoy this Earth in all it's splendor.
That's what I'm saving the planet for. What's your excuse?

11. Global warming-related devastation will likely change the world I live in, within my lifetime. So I'm not completely altrusitic - I'm also saving the planet for me.

It's gaaawd's way of separating those to be "Left Behind" from those who will be majically transported to heaven, leaving their clothes behind. Big nude-o-rama in heaven evidently, and no bathrooms either (according to Larry D.).
Either reject GHG climate theory or stay here in hell, to be slaughtered by jesus and his minions ("Left behind" video game players).
Wing nut evangelicals are the bottoms of S/M spirituality, they get off on the "end times" pain and suffering. Ted Haggert needs to start up an armageddon sex talk show. What to wear, ettiquette, positions, toys, etc. Like the teevee sex talk lady from Canada.

Clearly you haven't done enough to indoctrinate these people yet. How can you think of associating with people that have that many children! Why just one family is enough to offset your measly efforts!

Breeders will work twice as hard and starve so we childless patriots can live in luxury. The breeders have had their financial advantages for far too long.
10k for every year we remain childless, that ought to do it.
Breeders are like farm animals for the bushco machine, producing cannon fodder, consumers, and cheap labor. Just say...moooooooooo! Suckers.

Ha, the breeding females would just seduce the non-breeding males and then they would have to pay child support.

Does that mean that if we had prevented Global Warming, we would all be straight, in marriages with men as breadwinners, wifey at home to care for the 2.5 (or was that more in the Fifties?) children?
I mean, if GW = (future) abortion and gays, then maybe earlier no-GW (through prevention) = no abortions, no gays??

I fathered two children and got clipped. It's a tactic that is quite common among the men I know. Our children have the advantage of growing up with siblilngs and having their parents have the time, energy and resources to assist them in their aspirations.
Plus I get all the fun with a LOT less worry.
At least in my family my siblings and their respective spouses did not replace themselves due to deliberate contraception. Five kids from ten baby boom adults. Ecological considerations where part of the reason with all of us.
