None shall use the L-word 4

Another brutal fact check on the Palin "20 percent of domestic energy" lie knowingly repeated falsehood, from an increasingly fed-up MSM.

And then we export it......I was looking at the government numbers on oil production, imports and exports and I noticed a funny little fact. The US exports more petroleum products, 1.544 million barrels per day, than Alaska supplies 1.381 million barrels per day. Look at the US Energy Information Administration numbers on production and imports/exports.
That would mean that Alaska doesn't supply any oil to the US because the oil isn't sold to the US. It's sold to oil companies that are free to resell petroleum products abroad. It's a wash. We don't get any of it. So much for Alaska contributing to energy independence. The lie is total.

Counts...Counts in terms of net imports.
    Doesn't count 20%.

Energy = oilTo Sarah Palin, energy equals oil. That's why she said Alaska supplies 20% of the nation's energy. (The number for Alaskan oil actually is 13%, but was 18% in 2005.) I guess she doesn't realize the world outside Alaska has wind, solar, nuclear, natural gas, hydropower, etc. It's scary to hear her say "energy" will be one of her responsibilities as vice president. And that McCain says she knows more about energy than anyone else. Drill, baby, drill. Arrgh.
