New Gristmill search

How do you likey? 5

As many of you probably noticed over the last few years, the search function on Gristmill suuuuuu[time-lapse photography of sun rising and setting]uuuuucked. The blog is based on Scoop, and the search was just Scoop's out-of-the-box search, which, I say again, sucked.

Happily, our geek squad has done something about it. Gristmill search has now been folded into the overall site search, which you can find over on the top left or, if you have advanced searching needs, here. You can search just Gristmill, or Gristmill along with any other section, or the site excluding Gristmill.

Let us know what you think -- feedback and suggestions welcome.

Thanks DaveJust a few additional comments:

The Grist search engine will index the site (including Gristmill) several times during the day. This means that the freshest content will not be included in search results until the next index.
Comments are not included. While technically possible, we decided against making comments searchable. We are crafting ways to make it easier to learn about new comments, most commented stories, etc. But let us know if any of you will be missing the ability to search comments.

Also...I too would like to add something...
Developing features on an active website is an organic process, and although we're excited to get this new feature out there, it is still new and in will behave a ways that other "Beta" releases do. So to you dear readers and contributors, if something looks funky and it stays funky for more than a ten minutes, please let me know (jerome at grist.org).
