Romney wins Michigan GOP primary after bashing McCain on fuel economy 6

Mitt Romney won Michigan's Republican primary on Tuesday, after whacking John McCain for supporting tougher fuel-economy regulations and promoting "radical climate change legislation." Romney portrayed himself as a defender of Michigan's floundering auto industry and said the automakers shouldn't be burdened with having to produce more fuel-efficient cars. McCain also got broadsided by an anti-environment front group, the American Environmental Coalition, whose members include many people with close links to the Romney campaign. Said an AEC co-chair, "When it comes to climate change, John McCain and Al Gore are far too much alike for my comfort. John McCain has been sponsoring legislation for the past several years that would give Al Gore much of the regulatory control and power he sought when he and Bill Clinton tried to get America to sign on to the UN's Kyoto global warming treaty." The Michigan outcome was a big blow to McCain after his New Hampshire win last week, in which he seemed to get a boost from talking about fighting climate change.

Update: George Landrith, co-chair of the American Environmental Coalition, says neither he nor his organization made the statement comparing John McCain and Al Gore.

Mitt Romney, professional flip flopperSo Mitt pretends belonging to the Global Warming sceptics who don't believe in the power of the government but in Exxon & Co which should rule our country together with all the other greedy companies that don't give a damn about the life of the single worker and jobber.

Gosh, this guy is so fake like Pamela Anderson's boobs although I would rather put her in the Oval Office than political whore Romney.

I can't believe that anyone with one brain cell left over would vote for this fraud.

There is no joy in Mudville, MII'm disappointed in the citizens of Michigan that fell for this blatant pandering. When will people realize that you have to listen to what the politicians say when they're NOT talking to you to find out what they might actually think?

Mitt, Joey and the Golden Tablets of BSStatus Quo will remain in the GOP forever and ever.
Burden of making cars more fuel efficient?  Burden?  Really?
No, no, we wouldn't want to improve the technology on mpg and save money on gas with our depleted oil supply.
I'm disappointed that people let Romney even get this far after playing the god card over and over after saying his faith shouldn't

    affect his campaign.
Reminds me of our current failure.
I'm moving out of this country if Romney gets elected, mark my words.

home state? He claims Mass and Utah as his home states, too.
Panderer is a good word to describe him, but carpetbagger is a better one.
A lot of people in Mass are disappointed today to see him take Michigan, I can tell you. He's not popular here.
