The Inhofe ScaleThis morning I announced The Inhofe Scale, a way to measure the willful detachment from reality of statements regarding global warming and peak oil.
It's here on The Cost of Energy

Speaking of people who have left planet EarthEli Rabett has begun an analysis of climate contrarian and conservative favorite, Roger Pielke Jr.
    http://rabett.blogspot.com/2007/03/dear-john.html
It looks like Rabett might begin a series of posts that examine Pielke's consistent footsie game with right-wing nutsos.

feeling the Urge2I feel the Urge2 post this again. It's yet another twist on the Gore residence story:
Zoning rules in Al Gore's upscale Tennessee neighborhood have prevented the former vice president and environmental activist from installing solar panels on his roof.
Gore bought his multimillion dollar home in 2002 in Belle Meade, an exclusive city encircled by metropolitan Nashville, and he has embarked on an ambitious renovation. But his contractors ran into a legal barrier last summer when they sought to apply for a permit to install solar panels on the roof.
... Terry Franklin, Belle Meade's building officer, said the town only allows power generating equipment to be placed on the ground level. "Solar panels are generators," Franklin said.
"We told them they couldn't do it," he said. "They wanted to try anyway, but we convinced them it was something the board wouldn't allow."
New rules on April 1 will allow homeowners to install solar panels on their roofs. ... The builders at Gore's home plan to make the application for solar panels once the new ordinance goes into effect.

    Lou Ginzo's Inhofe ScaleHi Lou.

Long time no see you on the TOD circuits.
You forgot to mention the outright CONTRADICTION in Inhofe's rant.

First he said there is NO Global Warming because Buffalo had the coldest winter ever ("where's GW when you need it?")
Then he said there IS Global Warming but it falls under The Other Dude Done-it Defense (in other words, we humans aren't the cause of GW, it's the Sun's fault, look at the melting caps on Jupiter and Mars --Hey it's the Dawning of the Age of AmNot2Curious-- no wonder I no longer have my long beautiful "Hair" [that's a play from the 1960's for you young'ins out there, Dawn of the Age of Aquarius was one of the hit songs, chuckle, chuckle])

Keep up the good work Lou!
