Toy manufacturers push back against lead-safety rule 2

Toys marketed to the 12-under-set must either meet new lead standards or be off shelves by Feb. 10 -- but many toy manufacturers and retailers don't wanna comply. Citing the economic downturn, they're pressuring the government to relax the requirement.

    What are they thinking?Well there's a PR nightmare. Tell the world you're profits are more important than children. I don't think any consumer is going to see a silver lining in that cloud. What happens to your bottom line when people stop trusting that the toys they're buying are safe? This is an incredible opportunity for a toy manufacturer or retailer to promise to comply just in time for holiday shopping.
