The military also has the advantage that it can use arguments of secrecy and national security to prevent normal environmental oversight. Nobody knows, for instance, where or how the waste from Israeli nuclear reactors is being stored.

I read that our Federal government would like to scale this baby up so they can use it for crowd control. Yipee. Stock up on dark sunglasses and aluminum foil.
Did I learn about this on the Grist site or somewhere else? Maybe TreeHugger? I can't find the online article I originally read.
