I wish they all could be California governors ...

Schwarzenegger bringing governors and international leaders to California to talk climate 2

Muckraker: Grist on Politics

On Tuesday and Wednesday, David and I will be in Los Angeles attending the Governors' Global Climate Summit, hosted by Arnold Schwarzenegger.

The summit is bringing together governors (as the name suggests) and international leaders to talk about their programs to address climate change and energy concerns, in hopes of forging partnerships going forward. The meeting is also intended to generate momentum and a framework for international climate negotiations in Poland next month, and in Copenhagen in December 2009.

In addition to Schwarzenegger, the event is hosted by Florida Gov. Charlie Crist (R), Wisconsin Gov. Jim Doyle (D), Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich (D), and Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius (D). They'll be joined by business leaders, environmentalists, and politicians from Brazil, China, Indonesia, India, Mexico, Canada, Australia, Poland, and the European Union.

We'll have more over the next couple of days.

Kate Sheppard is Grist’s political reporter.

"new and creative ideas"The meeting abstract says it will bring world leaders together "to discuss new and creative ideas to combat climate change". One idea they might consider is implementing the statutory requirements (Sec. 38560) of California's AB 32 legislation.

Rod BlagoIf he is so worried about the environment why doesn't he stop flying around his state and wasting our tax money?  Maybe he could even figure out a way to keep the 11 parks and 13 historical sites that he is closing open with that money.  If you want to sign the petition to keep those parks open here's a link.

There are bills in front of him now that he could sign that would stop the closings.

Not all those who wander are lost
