Hell hath no fury like a Lohan scorned 2

On the list of most environmentally unfriendly ways to avenge yourself on an ex-boyfriend, leaving the water in your tub running so it can flood your former squeeze's apartment sits pretty close to the top. But punishment-by-excessive-water-use is exactly what Lindsay Lohan allegedly wrought on Harry Morton last month.

This, from TMZ.com:

Lohan lives one floor above Harry Morton, son of Las Vegas mogul Peter Morton, who just sold the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. Lindsay and Harry were once an item. Last month, Lindsay's condo flooded, sending water cascading into her ex's unit and causing extensive damage.

Contrary to published reports, the culprit was not a faulty pipe. According to the incident report, security officers at Sierra Towers went to Lindsay's unit, walked into the master bathroom, "and found the water overflowing in the bathtub." The security officer humbly wrote, "It seems that they left the faucet on. I turned it off."

TMZ sources say Morton's damage exceeded $150,000, and Morton wants Lohan to cough it up.

Whatever happened to a little good old-fashioned vase throwing?

Plumbing fixWhatever reason for wasting water in the drought stricken west, it needs to end.  These trend setting morons are draining rivers dry to facilitate their prescription drug and booze addled lives.
Timers on the water flow would do it.  And float valves that completely cut off the water in case of flooding like this.

Wealthy folks are just bad neighbors.....Really what this issue comes down to is that wealthy people are bad neighbors. The person who owns the second or third house next  door is never going to be around if an emergency comes up. Yet when they are in town they will expect priority access to the medical and emergency services that the full time residents of an area support and nurture.
Nobodie's second or third home every contributes a working adult for the volunteer fire department or the parks association board. All the boards, bake sales, service commitees and various parks planning commisions that are unpaid in small towns require residents comitted to year round living in THAT town.
Your wealthy property owner isn't going to be available to help with any of that. Plus even rental property owners discourage their residents from modifying their properties. So when that tree falls and crushes your garage the renter isn't going to be there with a chain saw to help out. Niether is the owner.
It's the people who have purchased houses with the intent to stay that keep our communities running. They might actually be home if they flood the people next door.
