G8: We really mean it on climate change this time

Really 3

The 33rd meeting of the G8 is happening in early June, in Germany. German Chancellor Angela Merkel -- perhaps in retaliation for the infamous backrub -- is determined to put climate change high on the agenda. Not surprisingly, the U.S. and Canada are working to water down the draft communique Merkel has put together.

Somewhat surprisingly, Merkel -- backed by Tony Blair -- isn't backing down. Indeed, they seem to be ramping up the pressure on Bush.

Will Bush's weakness and the now-universal chorus of concern on climate change combine to yield U.S. federal movement on the issue?

Ha ha. Hope springing eternal, meet Dick Cheney. Dick Cheney, hope springing eternal.

As a Canadian....why do I have to go to a UK media source to find out my stupid government is acting like a road block on this?  I haven't seen anything about this in Canadian newspapers so far.  I'm pretty sure if more Canadians knew about this, there would be more upset.  The Conservatives are pretending to be green, but this is what they're doing behind the scenes.  Democracy would be a lot more democratic if people had more information..

    Global Tax

Global warming solves the problem the Internationalists have had for a long time: how to tax people.
With global warming they can get individual governments to add fees and regulations that will continue to fund the activities of the G-8 and other quasi-World Government organizations.
The public will be bilked...as always...by yet another long con.

    Jabailo..Jabailo
Do you think we don't pay taxes on Oil and Coal?
The US Military alone spends $10,000,000,000.00 on fuel costs alone.

    (Ten Trillion Dollars)
    Every year.
    _
    Or for example,

We're spending far more tax dollars on fossil fuels than renewables.
    Here's the 2005 Energy Act's tax distribution:

    Meanwhile, here's the relative growth:

    _
We're asking to pay less taxes.
