But They Make a Mean Martini

U.S. EPA is bad at environmental protection 2

Shocking, shocking news can be discerned from U.S. EPA and Justice Department data: the EPA is totally slacking on cracking down on polluters.

EPA SlackingI worked the petrochemical industry for over 20 years. Unless you have been down refinery row in Houston you won't understand how difficult it is to locate polluters. Plants are supposed to be self policing and they do for the most part. Humans work there and they don't like to see anything going to the waterway or air as much as you. We fish Galveston bay and the San jacinto and trinity rivers. We also hunt ducks and geese and other wildlife here. We that live here applauded the clean water act that FORCED these companies to comply by huge fines if paperwork discrepencies are found. Visible flaring is a fine now. I know this sounds cliche but VOTE for people that believe in the environment.

One US EPA response to misleading storyThe US EPA Deputy Administrator has a blog which had a very fair response to the story linked here which, I'd have to say I agree with the DA, simply chose the wrong indicator as the key metric to measurement. But I'd highly recommend you check it out and get both sides of the story.
