Dweeb between the lines 6

With today's news of re-rising SUV sales comes a related tidbit: an old co-worker just alerted me to a site he's started called Dweebs Drive Humvees. Though the commentary is somewhat uneven, it has some fine moments -- and if it takes off like FUH2, the site that invites people to submit pictures of themselves flipping Hummers the bird, it could be a hooooooot. His goals are lofty: "I'm trying to spread the word until 'dweeb' and 'Hummer' become synonymous."

You know, if done right, this could workIt is all about percieved status. Change the perception, change the behavior. Being denigrated by women would be especially effective. I'll have my camera ready. This could also be used to alter other forms of behavior, like building huge houses.

The same thought crossed my mind. The sites as they are will probably just pour gas on the fire. I know some humvee drivers. They think that when someone gives them the  finger its because they are jealous. There may be a shred of truth in that by the way.

Not just fat prejudice"In a crowd of guys with serious masculinity issues, this Hummer owner here has got to be one of the gayest. I think he's trying to sodomize that poor rifle."
I hate to be a humorless multiculturalist granola-eating lefty and all that, but isn't that like kinda homophobic? Or like really flat-out offensively hatefully homophobic?
Come to think of it, do we really need to stoop to ridicule to make our points?
I think we're doing a fine job making it uncool to drive Hummers. We don't need this shit. It's not even that funny.

100k tax break. Was that ever eliminated?  Maybe it would be more effective to demand matching tax breaks for plugin hybrids?
