T. Boone Pickens -- the conservative billionaire oil baron turned wind activist -- just released his his first TV ad. Pickens has said that "we can't drill our way out" of our energy problem, and in the ad he says that wind should be the primary energy source to help break dependency on foreign oil. But he also says in that ad that we should "drill, drill, drill." Watch it:
Pickens will be at the Democratic National Convention Thursday at noon, in the Big Tent, talking about the "Pickens Plan." It should be an interesting event, between this dichotomous drilling message and Pickens' assertion that he could never vote for a Democrat because he wouldn't be able to face his relatives in heaven.

I am not a Christian, but even I know that Jesus is quoted as saying that "it is as difficult for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven as it is for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle".
If Pickens is a Christian, methinks he's in deep shit. Meeting his relatives in heaven should be the least of his concerns.

Sad, watching these two hornswagglers trying on claw onto the cash.
New massive finds in domestic natural gas are sinking oil futures by the dollar.
Wind will only be a boutique power source.
The 21st belongs to the Gaseous State.

There's just gotta be some obscure phrase or foreign word for this . . . when the simulacrum is just as real as the thing itself or even moreso . . .

it leases all U.S. oil forever at what are cheap rates of today (oil companies think this way, even if you choke at the pump price)
it distracts the politicians from doing anything which might cut oil consumption soon.
