Thanks for asking about water use, good question. The other questions are eathquakes, rocks cooling over time, so the holes need to be moved every few years, and escaped, sulfide laden warer vapor codensing in ground water, contaminating aquifers.
It's great to see where Google is heading. I think they are bypassing the most promising areas of investment, biogas/organic fertilizer, superconducting electrojagnetic energy storage, smart grid technology, solar PV/heat cogeneration, and ground source heating/cooling.
Google you need some advice from the Grist crew of contributors.
