Democracy on hold for football

Final count in Ohio may take a while 2

Also on the "to be determined" front, Ohio's 15th district race between Republican incumbent Deborah Pryce (an LCV Dirty Dozener) and Democrat Mary Jo Kilroy. From AP:

Thousands of provisional ballots will be counted beginning Nov. 19 - a day later than normal in deference to the Ohio State-Michigan football game Nov. 18.

I'm not sure what's going on between now and then, but in any case, post-football there may be a resolution in Ohio.

yes, it's sad...I recently moved to the Columbus region for OSU grad school, and sadly it's true that people out here are SERIOUS football fans!
The story that I'm getting about counting the provisional ballots is that they have to wait until the 18th to make sure that they have all been received, and then they start counting... on the 18th the OSU-Michigan game is a HUGE deal here, and pretty much everyone in Columbus is either at the game, watching the game, or trying to subdue the riotes post-game.
Counting the ballots on the 19th just ensures errors due to hangovers, etc. but at least it's something...

The football game should not take precedenceI don't care that they're both undefeated. It's our country we're talking about. Go Kilroy!
