    tiny, ugly and slimymy environmental law teacher used to call these preferential species 'charismatic megafauna'. i suppose it is human nature to feel for big, cute and cuddly over tiny, ugly and slimy.
    of course, the good thing is that when we protect habitat for gorilla, we protect the rest of the ecosystem too.
