This just in: the Massachusetts Executive Office of Environmental Affairs has weighed in on Cape Wind's Final Environmental Impact Report (FEIR), saying that it "adequately and properly complies" with the Massachusetts Environmental Policy Act. The project can now advance to the state permitting process. I believe it is the first U.S. offshore wind project to have a certified final environmental impact document.

Wow...a green energy project that would benefit millions -- now if you could only get Ted Kennedy to stop stalling the project because those windmills might affect the view from his summer home....

This puts off public hearings on the project to the fall and will probably delay the release of the Marine Mineral Svc's final report until summer 2008.
So the state agencies have thrown their support hehind it, but Washington's process is now, again, the question mark.
