   It's not about the U.S.My guess is that the President is referring to a proposal to send cash to countries that are having hunger problems instead of sending bags of American-grown corn, soy and wheat.  The cash would then be used to buy food from local farmers, thus stretching the funds (no shipping costs) and helping the local economy.  The idea is embedded somewhere in the current farm bill proposal, but I'm not sure how much traction it has in Congress.  Many powerful members of Congress see the foreign aid program strictly as a money-making business for U.S. ag interests, not as a way to help hungry people.
   And meanwhile in Bush's bureaucracies: the Federal Trade Commission refuses to do anything about record levels of consolidation in the meat industry, the EPA is changing rules to allow more air and water pollution from CAFOs, the Commerce Dept is pushing for more free trade agreements and opening foreign markets up to U.S. beef, and so on.

   Kiss of deathRemember when Bush swore he was committed to dealing with global warming? In 2000. Or how about the time he proffessed a deep concern for mine safety? How's that working out for everybody?
   Iraq?
   New Orleans?
   Oil prices?
   When Bush says he's "concerned and committed" it's the kiss of death. The man is like a living ball of kryptonite. Don't ever let him shake your hand either. Look what that's done for his cabinet.

   By the way, did he ever find those WMD's?
   Hmmm.  The press hasn't bothered to address that question with any seriousness.  Too busy reporting on which candidates are wearing their flag lapel pins.  Which I guess explains why some 30% of Americans -- inexplicably -- believe that we actually did find WMD in Iraq.
   We're all too busy watching American Idol.  Or Faux Nooze.  
   Just wake up the masses when the War on Iran begins ... that should boost the cable-news ratings for a good three or four weeks, at least.

   BiofoolYaay, did you know that you can feed 11.56 people a day with the same amount of corn needed to produce biofool.  
   Im reminded of Bush's speech last year in which he basically asked Brazil to burn down the Amazon in order to produce a little more Biofool for export.
   I think we all need to give old Georgie a little more credit for being so successful in manipulating all facits of government.  Even picking that sloth Cheney as his VP was brilliant.

   arglol I ment 11.56 people per gallon. also according to 2008 projections the US tax payer will provide 1 dollar in subsidies for every gallon of biofuel produced and remove enough food to feed 36 million people every day from the marketplace
