Stuff breaks. We throw that stuff out and buy more stuff. That’s a lot of stuff. That’s where our consumer culture and planned obsolescence intersect. Umbra visits the Fixers’ Collective in Brooklyn, a “social experiment in improvisational fixing and mending.” They are mending their way to a better world. Once a week they meet, creating community and changing our relationships to objects. Get your fix. Watch this!
“Ask Umbra” is the first video series produced by GristTV. Look for new video tips for greening your life from Umbra nearly every week.
