Coal lobby claims their grassroots support is “more organic” than green groups’ 3

“This is the truest form of grass-roots there is. We don’t charge people to be members of the Citizen Army, so if anything, it’s more organic than what some of the environmental groups do. We allow these people to express their own opinions on these issues.”

Joe Lucas, senior vice president for communications at the American Coalition for Clean Coal Electricity (aka Top Coal Lobby Spokesflak), defending the actions of coal lobbyists against accusations of creating fraudulent grassroots support, or “astroturfing.”

Oh jesus. You have to be kidding me. Most hilarious might be the shameless appropriation of all of our tree-hugger naturey words like "grassroots" and "organic," that come part and parcel with the environmentalist movement.Good news is this means environmentalism is effective in a way: major corporations and conservative movements are now trying to look like populist environmental groups. It's now cool, hip, or somehow worthwhile to be "grassroots," "organic," and even "sustainable." (Can't wait for the ads showing how coal is "sustainable energy"! Oh won't that be a good time!) And you know, perhaps imitation is the best form of flattery.

Coal-Hydrogen is getting into fuel swing and may be among the most beneficial sources of fuel for all.The Greens who are savoring at helping Big Utilities forcing us to have battery cars that must be plugged into massive wasteful grids from dusk to dawn would be crushed by Clean Coal.

Considering the people in their grass roots support epicentre are people tha depend on the coal indusry for jobs, livelihood, prosperity, I have to querstion the ligitamacy of grass roots. If people depend on you for employment you could call it 'unforced corrorsion'.
