Glenn Beck: Van Jones is a communist intent on, er, creating private sector jobs 31

Glenn Beck has uncovered a plot! (Yes, another one.)

Turns out Van Jones, President Obama’s green jobs czar, is going to coordinate a vast radical/communist/black nationalist takeover of our sweet, virginal land of liberty. Most diabolical of all, he’s going to do it by organizing efforts to train and employ low-income people in private sector jobs. Don’t you understand? They’re going to take over from the inside! You know: them.

Admit it, it’s brilliant. Here Beck exposes the cabal of Big Labor, Big Green, Big Business, and Big Commie, orchestrated by the many-tentacled Apollo Alliance:

Can you talk me out of the crazy tree?! No. No, I’m afraid not. You’ve found them. Right in the last place they thought you’d look.

Jones was undercover for a while, collecting degrees from University of Tennessee at Martin and Yale Law. But then he became an advocate. A (shudder) community organizer. We all know what that means, right Sarah?

Recently he tried to throw tireless commie-hunters like Beck off his trail by writing a book—2008’s The Green Collar Economy—that argued for saving the US free-market economy from stagflation by investing in green innovation, infrastructure, and industries, creating millions of jobs in the private sector. But don’t be fooled. It was all in the name of bringing down The Man!

Here he is, talking about destroying capitalism by greening the economy:

Scary, right? You gonna trust this guy ahead of Glenn Beck? I didn’t think so.

Of course, the shadowy Apollo Alliance ... are they Soros-funded? Probably! ... wants the government to support the evolution of a clean energy economy. Yeah, you heard right: They want the government to provide incentives to businesses to invest in green technologies and services. Needless to say, this kind of Stalinistic, top-down central planning leads only to disasters like the internet, the Interstate Highway System, the polio vaccine, and velcro. And, my god, flouridation. Don’t forget flouridation.

The sinister plan was going perfectly well until the radios in Glenn Beck’s teeth told him how much danger we’re in. And thank Reagan they did!

Never be afraid to shout at the clouds, Glenn. They’re looking at you funny.

I love Glenn Beck, no really, he is a perfect display of why most of the more developed countries consider our republicans an extremist group. Green jobs tied to mobilized youth in groups pushing innovation in the energy sector -- I can see why this would scare 'old money'. Glenn fits right in, talking in Faux Noise speak, with vague, misleading generalities, scary talking points and typical right wing sound bites. This country needs to move more to the left, and away from this radical right position propagated by fear mongering -- the 'Commie take over' propaganda from the '50's we all remember as McCarthy -ism.

Fear mongering? What the heck do you think Obummer uses EVERY TIME he wants a bill past it has to be done RIGHT NOW or something bad is going to happen. So, are you saying that when one person uses language like that it is fear mongering but, when someone elses uses it it is ok? I trust Glenn but, I dont trust Obama as far as I could throw a sherman tank!DixieUp.com

Yes, fear mongering! And in an attempt to communicate, I have a simple concept for you to try and grasp. It is called confirmation bias, a simple idea that means that at the end of the day you need to have the other side of the story as well. President Obama did not need scare tactics, we were already fearful of the situation before he took office because of the Bush-nics deregulation of the banking and investment industry. "I for one am very thankful for people like Glenn Beck, Bill O'riely, Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh and the many others that are not afraid to stand up and tell it like it is and expose the government and Obama for what they are and what they are up to." [my emphasis]This is my point to you, everyone (even you) knows that these opinionated talking heads are extremists right-wing mouth pieces. They talk directly to you, but who are you? Are you big business, old money? This is, simply stated, who the republican party represents, you have been hijacked. Probably by conflating your unsubstantiated beliefs with values. In short - think about this - if you work for a living you are a democrat, if you have people working for you, your a republican. When one strips away all the BS racist, religious, regional paradigms, this is the truth that is left. A case on point, why is the South the most staunchly republican but the least paid demographic in the country? Could it be that you and your neighbors are being used, I would think about it.Also, your "trust" of Glenn Beck shows an extreme lack of critical thinking skills. Demand evidence, always!

      06 Aug 2009

Always demand evidence, well how about page 425 of the health care bill?  Anyone on social security will have a mandatory counseling session every 5 years to assess your condition and to see if you might be ready to "move" on so the money being spent on you can be used else where. Being on dialysis where do you think that will leave me? They will be having to just cut my support out because the thought of blowing up like a ballon  and then popping just doesn't appeal to me at all. I like living and want to see my grand kids grow up and when the Good Lord is ready for me then I will go home. But, not when the government tells me to. DixieUp

It's not "mandatory."  Counseling to help face the end of life and for information to help choose one's options is a valid use of health care resources in my opinion.Anyway, what does this have to do with Van Jones and Green jobs?  Let's stick to the topic here.

That has no base in fact at all, that is not what it means in any way at all. Also, I noticed that you did not supply a link to this supposed information (evidence). Which bill, House or Senate I have both versions in front of me and page 425 of neither has anything to do with taking people off prescribed medication. http://tinyurl.com/m6ez6x To the Senate Bill, still not finalized.http://tinyurl.com/n7nuyl   House Bill again not the final version. I have a side note for anyone who thinks this is some sort of government conspiracy, it is not, we have been living in a conspiracy for many, many years. Now that the average individual is better educated (I have spent much of my retirement as a teacher), better informed (internet, and competent, non-biased news sources), the cloud of complacency, ignorance (the "Greatest Generation" - of SHEEP), and apathy is being lifted. The insurance industry has done very, VERY, well in this cloud of the status quo, but it has always been a lie. Why else would a government (party - republicans!) have so much to say about abortion and still send us off to die in senseless wars. Why do you (or anyone else) think some are spending so much money on swift-boat style advertising to stop something every good heart knows is the best for our people - us! Dammit! The people! Yes, now back on topic, my apologies.

The living will section was inserted by a republican.  AND it lets you specify your own care preferences at the crucial moment.  Duuhbya signed a bill as Texas governor that prohibits anyone to disconnect life support as long as the patient can pay for care.  No one can decide to end your suffering if desired, not your loved ones, your doctor, not even you.  You are kept going regardless, like Terry Shiavo. This Texas law also specifies that once you cannot pay for care, the hospital can disconnect you from life support, regardless of your wishes or your condition.A living will lets you decide before hand, regardless of ability to pay, under what conditions you wish to be disconnected from life support.  Doesn't that seem to be a better, freer choice than having the hospital disconnect you?  Or forbid disconnection if you can still pay?  The hospital corporation  thus drain the assets of someone in a terminal coma (the administrator gets a bonus for each patient disconnected?), leaving nothing for loved ones to inherit.  An elderly spouse for instance, is left homeless as the hospital corporation takes their home. The reason their needs to be a periodic review is that changing health and personal perspective might warrant that change, and once you are terminally ill in a coma, those voluntary changes can't be made.  Does that explain this better than effnews talking points or palin's "death panel" assertions?  Doesn't that Texas law sound like a hospital administrator "death panel"?As far as being "mandatory", the decisons in the living will you choose is up to you.  You can even specify, let the hospital administrator decide, if you are a truly faithbased worshipper of the former prez. These healthcare lobbyist talking points spouted by idiots like palin only confuse in order to manipulate the gullible.

There is no conspiracy of the government to pull a Scifi style body snatch, page 426 is about consultation. The idea is to give information to the patient or the patient's representative, (ie. relative) and take it out of the hands of the elderly care facility, hospice, insurer etc. From page 426:4 "(E) An explanation by the practitioner of the
5 continuum of end-of-life services and supports avail-
6 able, including palliative care and hospice, and bene-
7 fits for such services and supports that are available
8 under this title.Barry (President Obama) knows as well as I that many elderly people suffer at the hands of a compassion lacking system ment to protect the industry not the patient. All this does is give the decision power back to the patient.

If Obama care passes the decision as to whether or not you are permitted to live if in bad health will be decided by a shadow group in the government.  It will all depend on how much your treatment is costing and if they could use the money on someone younger.

The clouds may be looking funny at Glenn Beck but, if not for him most of the American people would be in the dark about the shanegans that the government is trying to pull over our eyes. Thank goodness that there are people like Glenn that care enough about this country to inform the rest of us so we can at least try and stop these tyrannical people including Obama!Something that he brought out in the open about "mr. green czar" Van Jones is that he has a criminal record. The last time I heard, a person with a record lost their right to vote, sit on a jury, run for a poltical office or hold a political office, and yet, here he is a "Czar" in the Obama Administration with NO ONE to answer to but the Obummer himself. Now, explain how this can be legal?I for one am very thankful for people like Glenn Beck, Bill O'riely, Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh and the many others that are not afraid to stand up and tell it like it is and expose the government and Obama for what they are and what they are up to.DixieUp.com

Criminal record?  You mean like Tom Delay and Jack Abramoff?  Or like Rush Limbaugh and his drug abuse?"Jones was still a law student at Yale Law School at the time. While volunteering as a legal monitor during a peaceful protest following the Rodney King riots, Jones was arrested along with other legal monitors and some protesters. He and the other detainees were released no more than 4 hours after being illegally arrested and Jones was never convicted of a crime."

Your absolutely right, how do these people think a government for the people and by the people was started or should be maintained. Thomas Paine spent years in prison until Ben Franklin, Thomas Jefferson and others, pulled him out. All of our founding fathers would have done time (more likely death) for their part in the revolution, REVOLUTION - brave people put themselves on the line for what they believe to be right.I for one, am a staunch advocate of reforming the way we use this planets natural resources, in short I am very, very Green ( I road a bicycle 37 miles one way to work and at work all day for many years) so, we do what we can.

Why would God put all these resources on this planet if He did not indend for us to use them?  Besides the tires on your bike had to be processed in a plant and I bet that the plant was not a "green" plant.Sorry to get off post again, just couldn't help it.

To begin with, what god, Thor, Vishnu, Odin, Space Ghost? I don't presume to know the unknowable - nor should you. You are responsible for what you consume, regardless of what some preacher etcetera told you. Again, I see a lack of critical thought on your part, sheep believe, surfs and peasants trust or except what they are told at face value - you seem sharp, Investigate everything always. With just the minimum of investigation, you would have found that Van Jones is a stand up guy that takes responsibility for his views. Stop being a pawn for the right-wing, money machine that has no respect and think for yourself. These resources are limited, therefore the idea is to conserve and protect and care for what we have on this planet. So, by riding my bike I conserve, I protect the environment, and I maintain my body - great exercise. The tires on the bike I rode to work lasted for a couple of years and the cost in carbon footprint is minimal. If you don't use your mind, someone will use it against you.

WBoyd said above,"If Obama care passes... Now this is just mindless, brain dead BS that is propagated by the people manipulating you with disinformation. Think about it critically and ask yourself the 5 question words. Then stop derailing this thread.Think about this critically for a moment, ask yourself the 5 question words; who, what, when, where, and why. What is your proposition? Some sort of Death tribunal, come on.What would be world/ local reaction be to this? Economic sanctions and political suicide for the Democratic Party, your not even that stupid. Why is this, supposed, section in the health-care bill - to save money? Maybe to limit participants age of eligibility or in the theme of "Logan's Run" their age? This idea is so asinine that it is obviously hiding an ulterior concern. Unless someone can think of another reason, I believe that it only exists in the mind of a strawman generating religious apologists with fear mongering motives as to suggest that Uncle Sam wants the power over life. But, wait, this is where the above reactions kick in. Who is proposing this BS section of the bill? Some hateful atheist, over payed demagog, Democrat? Nope! Actually, the section (HR 3200 sec.1233 p.426 E) misrepresented to be the "Death council" section is the product of a republican. http://tinyurl.com/kumm9u Who will benefit from telling you that the bill is evil like Sara Palin did this past weekend. The insurance industry of course. They have made 400% increase in revenues since 2000 and the top ten CEO's are raking in more than $11 Million a year each - feel used yet. When did this health care reform nightmare begin? When did you find out about it and from whom? Could it be that you are the victim of partisan bias? 35 years ago we started working toward insurance reform, but the republican party who is owned lock stock and barrel by the insurance interests and major financial concerns have blocked it with this same disinformation campaign. This is not the first health reform bill I have read, nor is it the first I have heard these BS talking points, inflamatory conjectures etc. So, when you answer the second question for yourself that will tie this one up.Where did you hear about this section? Get informed, get differing views.
