to deal with poisons in the water, and toxins in the air.
But let me please assure you, it's not that we don't care-
it's just that the economy's our number one concern
'Cause dirty coal is here to stay,
the king's too big to fall.
It's progress at a crawl,
and we can see no other way.
We'll allow the rape of Mother Nature's peaks
and look into- what we can do.
We're going forward, with nothing new.
But rest assured, we won't be swayed by silly nature freaks.
'Cause dirty coal is here to stay,
we need its easy power,
and prefer its price per hour.
We refuse to change our way.
Technology, one sunny day, will make it all just right,
and coal will then be nice and clean.
(If we provide a cloak of green
to keep its wild spirit from capturing sunlight.)
'Cause dirty coal is here to stay,
farewell to mountain stream
and fair weather dream.
'Cause it's too late to go another way.
