In this May 6, 2009, lecture for Sydney Ideas, leading environmental writer and activist (and Grist board member!) Bill McKibben talked about how climate science and climate politics are quickly evolving — and how we now have a much more specific idea both of the peril we face and the steps (large and difficult) necessary to solve it.

Russ Walker is an East Coast refugee who landed in Seattle in July 2008. He’s executive editor of the site, which means he spends a lot of time trying to be optimistic about cutting CO2 emissions … and coming up with puns that work with “COP-15.”
