   Its funny how much John Stewart is even off.  Stopping CO2 emissions is "fine tuning"???   Talk about throwing the baby out with the bath water.   Where oh were is the messaging getting confused?  And why is ocean acidification so off the table in these public conversations.  Stopping dinosaur era acidic seas isn't "fine tuning" anything.

   Stewart does a good job with Jackson playing devil's advocate.  This is the kind of debate we need about climate change--reasoned argument about exactly what the threats are and the best way to deal with them.  As opposed to straight-up denial of the evidence. I am disappointed that LJ doesn't want to regulate cows, tho.

   Yeah, Stewart clearly doesn't get it, but neither do most people.  Crying about money while burning up the planet is not only immoral, but ignorantly foolish.  If you like political comedians, Bill Maher is much better (so, business is good but we're all dead?)  And the statement about not regulating individuals or cows was infuriating.  What needs to be done is to first identify the harmful conduct, then determine the legitimate concerns of non-rich people who might be harmed by prohibiting actions, and finally make a policy based on those issues, with eliminating harmful conduct taking precedence.Christopher, I fully agree about ocean acidification.  I've been screaming about this problem since the Australian study came out a few years ago, and I'm far more concerned about this than global warming.

   Stewart started the interview asking Jackson when she first walked in at the EPA after 8 years of the Bush Administration, had it been used.  Enjoy.  70-553

   Stewart does not come off well in this interview. He really doesn't seem to understand the nature and the seriousness of the issue. He should read a book or two. Perhaps Monbiot's "Heat" and Romm's "Hell and High Water."
